Use Bash Shell in Windows 10

This awesome feature, included with Anniversary Update, lets you install the classic Bash UNIX shell, thanks to a joint effort with Canonical.

To enable this feature,

  1. Head to Settings.
  2. Now go to Update and security.
  3. Now go to  For Developers and switch on Developer mode.
Once this is done, head to the old control panel and then

  1. Go to Programs.
  2. Now you need to go to Turn Windows features on or off and check the box next to Windows Subsystem for Linux (beta).
You'll need to reboot, at which point all you have to do is search for Bash to get started using it.
